Shifting gears

Well,, in the nick of time things have come together.  I got clearance from the physical therapist and the Dr. that I am good to go for endurance runs. There is still some residual pain but nothing that stops me from running.  I have lost a little bit of endurance or at least I feel like I have.  I have my new bike. It is all together and I am in the process of getting used to it.  The change in bikes has been an eye opener for me.  I had my other bike for a couple of years and it had about 4500 miles on it.  So needless to say, my ass has been on that bike set-up a lot.  It was a very light weight steel frame.  Bike frames are made from steel, some are carbon, some are titanium, some are aluminum.  All of them have pros and cons.  I now have a Boron Carbon frame.  The differences between the two bikes is amazing.  Right now I have to say that I like my old bike better. I have not gotten used to this one.  The old steel frame had some flex to it.  When I climbed hills, I could get up out of the saddle and be able to really push the bike around.  This new bike is very stiff.  It does not feel the same.  It reacts differently.  It is a minor thing and I will get used to this bike but I do not have much time left to get used to this new rig.

So, I have my legs back,, I got my back back and I have two weeks to get everything working together.  I have been focusing on running and riding. Swimming is taking a back seat for right now.
